Lesson 14 - Nose

In this class we will study the front part of the board, that is, the nose of the board.

On surfboards we don't call the front part the bow like on boats, we simply call it the nose.

Let's study as if we were to divide the board into two parts,

We will see the front part in this class, and, in the next, the back part, which is known as the tail. Because both parts have different functions on the surfboard.

The front part, as we saw previously, has greater influence at low speed, when paddling to move or catch a wave.

This is because when we are lying down paddling on the board, the heaviest part of our body is in the front.

So the nose outline will greatly influence the ability of a board to move when paddling.
