Shape Friday
Hey everyone!
How are you doing? I hope you’re all doing great!
Today I want to tell you how Shape Friday came to life, a series I post every Friday on my Instagram, @davidwebersurf.
Shape Friday started as a way to showcase wooden surfboards from all over the world, many of them built by students from my Online Wooden Surfboard Workshop.

I think it’s really important for the wooden surfboard community to stay connected. More shapers starting their own brands, living a lifestyle close to nature, and sharing their creations with the world.
That’s what inspired me to create Shape Friday.

I truly believe that sharing the work of shapers from around the world shows just how unique the art of building wooden surfboards really is.
And I’m not just talking about a hobby or handcrafted woodworking. It’s also a real career opportunity, because there’s still a growing demand for shapers building modern wooden surfboards.

One of my favorite things about Shape Friday is that the boards I share on Instagram don’t just have that beautiful retro wooden look. They’re also high-performance surfboards made to be ridden. Honestly, that’s probably what I love most about them.
And of course, the fact that no two wooden surfboards are ever the same.

It’s a fascinating world, don’t you think?
If you’ve built your own board and would like me to feature it on Instagram, feel free to send it my way. My DMs are always open: @davidwebersurf
