- What is the Workshop?

A: It is a practical course where each participant builds their own surfboard.

 

- What is the value of the Workshop?

 A: The Value of the Workshop depends on the Location and Date, as well as on the Model of the Board.

- What is the wood used?

 

A: We use Paulownia wood, also known as Japanese Kiri. Considered the best that exists to build Hollow Wooden Surfboards, Alaias, and Handplanes.

- How do I apply?

A: To participate you must purchase the board with the option to “build in the workshop”, choosing the size and the date of the course that you want to participate.

 

- I have no experience, can I participate?

A: Of course, the workshop is designed for all levels, including beginners. You will be guided step by step to build a high performance surfboard.

 

- Does the board stay with the participant?

A: Yes, each participant takes the surfboard home, a work of art functional in the waves.

 

- What is the time to make a hollow board?

A: Approximately 30 hours divided into 3 intensive days for the boards.

 

- What is the workload to do an Alaia or Handplane?

A: It's 2 days from 15 to 20 hours in total for Alaias and Handplanes.

"Do I need to take anything for the course?"

A: No, you will have all the materials and tools available at the Workshop site.

 

- Can I make planks on my own?

A: Yes, the Workshop is complete and intensive, as learning progresses exponentially throughout the course. Several participants have already made other boards at home with the experience gained in the course. Others came back to participate in other boards, because they liked the work and the Workshop vibes.

 

"Is the board ready to put in the water?"

 A: No, the Workshop is a Practical Shape Course, the shape of the board will be ready. Will be missing the Glass (Fiberglass Placement and Epoxy Resin) And the Finishing Finish: Hot Coat, Fins Installation and Plugs, Sanding and Polishing.
