Q: What is the first thing to do after enrolling in the Course?
A: The first thing you should do is check your email box, find the email that says: 'Welcome to Online Workshop - Surfboards'. There you will find the main confidential access information: Your username (which is your email), your password, the coupon to withdraw your plans, Link to the support community, and the link to the Welcome Page.
It is mandatory to enter the welcome page to know the first steps within the Course. I also leave here the link to the same page. Enter here: https://conteudos.davidweber.com.br/welcome-page-surfboards
If by chance you did not receive the welcome email, send an email to: david@davidweber.com.br
Q: How do I get help on the Course, before and during the boards building?
A: The course is self explanatory, it is possible to build the boards following the step by step. But if you need help, the only place to get it is the Telegram Support Community.
Q: How do I join the Support Community?
A: The link to the Support Community is in the welcome email you received when you signed up for the course.
Q: How does the Support Community work?
A: It's a secret group on Telegram, you can see all the messages since the creation of the Community. Make a search, your question has certainly already been answered, or, if you prefer, you can ask at any time.
Install the Telegram App and enter the link in your email.
Q: Where can I find the digital plans for the boards I'm going to make, and how do I get them?
A: You will withdraw your plans one at a time, on the website below using your coupon.
Choose your digital plans here: https://davidweber.com.br/en/shop/online-workshop/digital-plans
Q: Where can I find the Coupon to get my digital plans?
A: Your coupon is in the Welcome email, the same as always. The primary email that contains your confidential information.
Plans (coupons) will only be available after 9 days of purchasing the course. If by chance your coupon is valid for more than 1 digital plan, you must get them separately. You will need to put 1 plan in the shopping cart, enter the coupon, and then do it again for the other plans.
That is, you will take one plan at a time! (Using the same coupon)
Q: How long do I have to withdraw my digital plans?
A: You have 2 years to get your plans
Q: Where do I print plans on paper?
A: You will print on a plotter, where architecture and engineering projects are printed. The files are in full size. Do not change the scale when printing, just print
Q: Can I cut the skeleton on a CNC machine?
A: Yes, if you want to cut the skeleton of your board on a CNC Router machine, you will use the same .pdf file. We do not provide any other type of modified files for printing. With this single file it should be possible to print everything in full size, as well as cut it on a CNC machine.
* If necessary, you, or the CNC operator can convert to other formats from the same vectorized .pdf file.
* To repeat: I only have and supply this file format (.pdf), they are the same ones I use to cut with my CNC or print on paper using a plotter.
Q: What about the Shape Stand and Rocker Table plans, where are they?
A: The shape stand plans and rocker table technical drawings are among the course files. If you don't find it, ask the support community.
Q: Can I use a SUP rocker table to make surfboards?
A: Yes, it's possible, but it's not ideal. If you are going to use it, be careful when pressing the deck so as not to lose pressure in the middle, on top of the board stringer. This can happen due to excessive table width. Better to use the surfboards rocker table on surfboards.
Q: How do I build my Shape Stand?
A: For the Shape Stand you will use the plans that are on the course portal, among the course files. As I said before, you will print on a Plotter, a place that prints architectural blueprints. The drawings are already in real size, 1:1, so just print it without changing the scale, it is not necessary to have the measures written in the drawing, because it is already in real size, just print the .pdf file without changing the scale. If you go to the right place to print, you won't have any problems.
After printing, you will glue the paper onto a 20 or 21 mm thick plywood board and cut the board along the lines of the paper. Exactly the same way we do with the skeleton of the board in Lesson 00 of the course.
Q: What is the difference between the 20mm and the 21mm Shape Stand?
A: The only difference is the thickness, it depends on the thickness of the plywood board you are going to use, if you are going to use a 21mm board use the 21mm file, if you are going to use a 20mm board use the 20mm plans.
The only difference is if you can get 20 or 21mm plywood. If you can only get thinner wood then make allowances with the slots so everything is still fitted nicely.
